Caminito Nevado
The home at Caminito Nevada is a one-of-a-kind architectural gem, thoughtfully designed in harmony with the site’s dramatic topography and location. Nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, just minutes from Santa Fe’s Ski Basin, the residence embraces the challenges and opportunities of its hillside setting and zoning constraints.
In collaboration with architect Andrea Caraballo, the design traces the land’s natural contour lines, carefully respecting the 30% slope limitations imposed by county zoning. This approach allows the home to both honor the terrain and capture the sweeping, unobstructed views of cliffs, valleys, and mountains—framed like living works of art within expansive glass walls. Each room offers its own breathtaking perspective, blending the grandeur of the outdoors with the comfort of home.
That comfort is elevated by high-performance insulation and an advanced HVAC system, ensuring a warm retreat in winter and a cool refuge in summer. Generous covered patios extend the living spaces outdoors, offering shade from the desert sun while providing shelter from winter winds and snowfall.
